We believe in equal access to a university education for all.
Currently, many Muslims are unable to go to university because their faith prohibits them from taking interest based finance to fund university tuition fees.
The Bright and Halal campaign seeks to lobby the main British political parties to include a commitment to sharia finance for funding university tuition fees.
During the period April – June 2014, the Bright and Halal campaign encouraged British Muslims to respond to the government consultation on an alternative shari’ah compliant finance product to fund student loan fees.
When encouraging others to fill in the consultation survey form, It was inspiring for us to see so many messages of support.
This successful mobilisation, as evidenced by the many thousands of responses, compared to a few hundred for other such consultations, is proof of the appetite that exists for alternative sharia finance for funding university education.
